stupid computers

Sometimes I hate computers. My main computer is on the fritz right now and can’t see the internet. I was planning on rebuilding it at some point in time, this is just pushing up the deadline. So that’s why no Halloween pictures or other pictures in a while. As soon as everyting is back online, more pictures for everyone!

In the meantime, enjoy a nice story about thinking meat!

I got tagged by Bert, which means I have to list out some of my indiosyncrasies. Here we go.

Main Entry: idiosyncrasy
Pronunciation: “id-E-&-’si[ng]-kr&-sE
Function: noun
Inflected Form: plural -sies
1 : a peculiarity of physical or mental constitution or temperament

Despite the fact that I have twice gotten cotton stuck in my ear, the first time requiring a trip to the doctor to remove it and the second a trip to Walgreens for some tweezers, I still put the Q-tip in my ear when swabbing.

I don’t drink coffee. It messes up my innards. But I quite enjoy the smell of brewing coffee, especially when I’m in a coffeehouse.

I never make my bed, except for right after I’ve switched the sheets or I’m having company. Even though I knew this when I was shopping, I still bought throw pillows for my bed. They spend most of the time on the floor. Sometimes they migrate to the couch in the living room.

I know the rules for our kickball league better than most of the field monitors.

I eat weird combinations of food. It started with the peanut butter and cheese sandwich my friend Tim tricked me into eating in high school. It’s quite good, to the surprise of most people. Chili Cheese Fritos dipped in cottage cheese is a popular choice right now.

It bothers me when people can’t spell. Not the sort of mistakes you make because you fat fingered something, or were typing really fast, but the kind you get when someone can’t spell.

85% of the time I spell the word ‘though’ as ‘tho’.

I never capitalize anything when im’ing people. I also spell everything out. No real reason, but I think it would take me longer to remember to type ‘u r’ than ‘you are’.

I can’t sing. This does not stop me from entering, and one time, winning, karaoke contests.

I can fall asleep under almost any conditions. The one notable exception is complete silence. I need the white noise.

According to many, many, many forwarded emails, I am a child of the 80’s. Even so, I have never seen the movie “Top Gun” and never plan to.

I never take the top newspaper. I always take one 4 or 5 down.
